On Major Summer Holiday Weekends there are often special traffic management plans put into place which may restrict access to Atlantic Avenue during certain hours. Guests arriving Memorial Day, July 4th or Labor Day weekends should check with their hotel for details on the best access routes, the quickest entrance and the least inconvenience. Visit the city web site at visitvirginiabeach.com for specific directions from north, south and west of Virginia Beach. On approaching the resort, it is recommended that drivers use Birdneck Road Beach Access Routes into the resort area. This will ensure the greatest ease of entry on your arrival. We also suggest you consult with your hotel for the nearest access route to that business.
Birdneck Road Beach Access Routes
- 31st Street (Ship’s Wheel) - North Beach Access
- 21st Street (Scallop) - Beach Street Access
- 19th Street (Starfish) - Beach Street Access
- 17th Street (Seashell) - South Beach Access
- 9th Street (Sea Horse) - South Beach Access

Norfolk International Airport is eighteen miles from the Virginia Beach resort area. It has more than 184 arrivals and departures daily. Limousine and taxi services are available to Virginia Beach hotels. www.norfolkairport.com
The Hampton Roads area is serviced by Amtrak. The Amtrak stations are located in Newport News and Norfolk with daily arrivals and departures. Visit www.amtrak.com, or call (800) 872-7245.

Virginia Beach Parking Information
The city operates three garages and four municipal parking lots at the oceanfront.
Municipal garage locations are as follows:
- 9th Street garage is located at 200 9th Street
- The new 25th Street garage is located at 336 25th Street
- 31st Street garage is located at 209 30th Street
All three garages are open 7am–12:30am daily. Rates are $2/hr; Max $10 › 3 hrs, with a Special Event rate of $10. All locations accept major credit and debit cards.
All three municipal garages can accommodate overnight parking for hotel guests that have more than one car. Hotel guests may purchase a 3-day or 7-day pass at any garage that will allow unlimited access to the garage. The pass may be purchased on-site or online prior to your visit.
All three municipal garages can accommodate overflow parking related to special events or conventions held at the hotel. Each garage can accommodate validated parking where the costs can be billed directly to the hotel to allow the hotel’s guests to access the garage without payment. The garage will track hotel guests’ usage and invoice the hotel for their guests. Resort area parking lot locations are as follows:
- Rudee Loop lot is located at 104 Atlantic Avenue
- 2nd Street lot is located at 145 Atlantic Avenue
- 4th Street lot is located at 306 4th Street
- 19th Street North & South lots are located at 300 19th Street
Operating hours and rates vary. All locations and meters accept major credit and debit cards. To pay by phone for on-street metered parking use the Go Passport app.
Charter Bus Parking
